       "Xinye Village - Home" is a watercolor painting by Daniel Austin that depicts current daily life in a historic village within Zhejiang Province. If you visit the Wikipedia page for Xinye Village, the bottom photo shows a pond surrounded by residents' houses.  The rendition (below) depicts a  resident's house with wooden doors similar to the doors in the photo.  [UPDATE: On April 3, 2025, Daniel received one of four juror's awards presented at the Erie Art Museum Spring Show.]
